We have created a check list for you of items to begin learning about and choosing in preparing your kitchen. Every cook must at some point start stocking their kitchen, so start at the beginning of the list, as you keep adding you will have more and more to be creative with and will soon be shocking yourself with the ease of preparing meals. Whether your are young and getting started, facing tough financial times, or are experiencing any set of unique circumstances, there will be items that will help you get food on the table, and save money by preparing your own food. I love to go out to eat, but I save it up and make it an event, and in between I prepare meals I love and have now found I sometimes like my own food as well or better than what I order in restaurants.
BEGINNER ITEMS – TO GET YOU GOING Cookware Set, pots and pans with lids, the set will depend on you, here there is a limitless variety, but we have a few great choices available here I recommend. Non Stick Frying Pan, 10 or 12 inch for sure, smaller one also is great Knives, again you will have choices, but we have some great options in out store. Mixing Bowl or set of bowls, you choose the type, we all have to combine things to cook. Dutch Oven, or something you can bake a casserole in. Cutting Board (at a later time you may want more than one!) Set of Utensils, plastic or metal, depending on the cookware you chose, I recommend at least having plastic as it will work on everything. A set will cover most your stirring needs. Rubber or Silicone Spatula, or more than one Can Opener Vegetable Peeler Cheese Grater Measuring Cups and Spoons Potholders, Hot Pads and or Oven Mitts ONCE YOU HAVE THE BEGINNER ITEMS, THE FOLLOWING WILL HELP YOU EXPAND WHAT IS POSSIBLE IN YOUR KITCHEN. IN WHAT ORDER YOU PURCHASE THIS LIST WILL DEPEND ON YOUR LIFESTYLE AND DESIRE TO COOK. Colander Teapot (kettle) Stock Pot (or Pasta Set) Roaster / Roasting Pan Wooden Spoons Whisk Scissors Baking items, such as cookie sheet, loaf pan, 9x13 baking pan Salad Spinner Canisters Mixing Bowls, depending on what you got started with, seems you can always use a little more Containers with lids for storing leftovers Bottle opener Corkscrew or Wine Opener Mandolin (slicer as a small option to a food processor) FROM HERE THE SKY IS THE LIMIT! THERE IS MORE AND MORE KITCHEN ITEMS ON THE MARKET EVERY YEAR, DEPENDING ON HOW YOU COOK, YOU MAY FIND ITEMS YOU WANT. NOBODY HAS OR NEEDS IT ALL.
